Position

Responsible to portion foods onto the resident’s plate, making it as attractive as possible. Responsible to serve plates to residents with a positive attitude. Also responsible to clear the dirty dishes from the residents’ dining room tables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Willing to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must exercise initiative in keeping the area clean.
  • Able to work with others and to learn to operate equipment.
  • Must understand how to operate equipment.
  • Some knowledge of food preparation is preferred.
  • Must be able to learn and understand therapeutic diets.
  • Serves correct diet ordered for each resident according to approved menu plan.
  • Keeps personal clothing and hands clean, observing proper handwashing technique.
  • Attends dietary meetings in order to preserve continuity and efficiency.
  • Keeps kitchen and dining room areas clean and tidy, free of debris and odor.
  • Sets up buffet for residents as scheduled.
  • Serves plates for residents as scheduled.
  • Cleans off soiled dishes and sanitizes tables.
  • Replenishes supplies as needed.
  • Mops and washes floors, cleans refrigerator and cupboards, and all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties.
  • Performs other assigned related duties.
  • Abides by employee immunization/vaccination policies.

Education and/or Experience

Must be at least 16 years of age. Training and experience in a dietary setting is desirable. On-the-job training will be provided.
