Job Description
JOB PURPOSE: The Food Services Team Member is a skilled cook that assists in preparing meals according to the menu. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. Must be skillful around the kitchen and able to multi-task. Experience in preparing meals from scratch and in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets up workstations with all needed ingredients a cooking equipment.
- Prepares ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).
- Cooks food using various utensils or grillers.
- Checks food while cooking to stir or turn.
- Keeps their workstation sanitized and orderly in the kitchen.
- Ensures all food and other items are stored properly.
- Checks quality of ingredients.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Preparing meals from scratch
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED Required
- Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
COMPETENCIES:
- Proven work experience as a cook.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- This is a part time position. Hours are scheduled to accommodate a 24/7 facility. Hours include holidays.
