Description
The Residential Services Coordinator’s role is to work closely with the ownership and property management team to bring forth and address the needs and the dilemmas of the residents. The Residential Services Coordinator provides support, intervention and lease education to the residents. The RSC also serves the residents by providing informal counseling, referrals to individual residents and access to other social services. The RSC uses creative and innovative methods to connect with the residents. In the effort to support the residents, the RSC administers on-site programs such as health safety sessions, educational programs, job training/preparation development programs for the resident. The Residential Services Coordinator's role is not only to maintain the standard of life for the residents but to improve their quality of life. The Residential Services Coordinator strives to bridge the relationship between residents, the ownership and property management team and the neighborhood to ensure a healthy housing community.
Other Responsibilities include:
Follow up on referrals, conduct meetings with residents, refer residents to services, provide lease education and keep the Property Manager informed of significant developments related to lease violations and ongoing resident issues.
Provide direct assistance in upholding lease obligations, specifically in the areas of budgeting, housekeeping, neighbor relations and landlord/tenant responsibilities.
Provide crisis intervention to property management issues.
Develop annual work plan of services for assigned properties. Work with the property manager and residents to determine goals for the property, related to residents services, and formalize a plan for addressing and meeting those goals.
Track and measure outcomes related to these goals on an ongoing basis.
Develop and support resident leadership and participation.
Communicate regularly with residents about on-site and community events/services through printed notices and flyers, bulletin board postings and a monthly site newsletter.
Establish linkages with community groups and neighborhood-based services. Develop a network of resources to refer residents to programs on education and employment/training opportunities, substances abuse education/ counseling, domestic violence counseling, elder services, etc.
‘Network’ and build relationships with agencies and service providers for the purpose of bringing programs and services to the resident population.
Create and maintain a Resource Directory for use by management staff and residents.
The RSC may participate in processing requests for Reasonable Accommodations according to 504 law and management company procedures.
Participate in grant writing, and implement grant programs as is appropriate;
Engage in regular building tours and conducting Health and Safety Inspections.
Build relationships with housekeeping, zone maintenance, security guards, and Boston Police to assure that the physical environment is maintained at optimum levels.
Responsible for all other tasks as directed by the supervisor and or central staff members.
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum two years experience working with residents or a community.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Human Services or High School Diploma with experience in the field.
Minimum 3 years of previous residential services support and experience within a corporate environment.
High degree of confidentiality and judgment in dealing with sensitive information.
Intermediate computer skills including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Program development is a plus.
High-level professionalism and sound judgment.
Excellent organization, prioritization skills and time management.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
Ability to act promptly and accurately.
