POSITION SUMMARY:
In this role, the Director, Clinical Services will manage the clinical department, provide direction, and development. This will include collaboration, administrative oversight, training, follow-up, performance assessment, and daily metric review to strengthen the clinical counseling services provided by staff and interns, along with direct supervision. This position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department, including budget planning, analysis, reporting program outputs and outcome data to funding sources and leadership.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Clinical Department Supervision to Therapists, and Student Interns.
- Collaborate to support staff to ensure the quality of all services are maintained in accordance with the Agency’s mission, and goals, including the development of internal staff through orientation and other opportunities.
- Provide direct service to a caseload of clients.
- Oversee and support the staff use of Agency databases and support maintenance and training efforts to ensure quality.
- Manage and report on key performance indicators (KPI’s), operating metrics, budget, grant contract reporting, and other department data ensuring the highest levels of service, collaboration, and compliance standards are being delivered.
- Assist with the development and delivery of Agency Policy and Protocol. Ability to educate staff and hold accountable policy and performance.
- Provide crisis intervention, systems advocacy, counseling to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of abuse.
- Attend and participate as a member of the Operations Leadership Team and Director Team.
- Serve as a liaison and partner to build positive working relationships with community members and partnering agencies.
- Represent the Agency to the community and collaborate with community members to ensure the implementation and/or maintenance of the Agency’s programs and services meet the guidelines and requirements through the Grants. Work to maintain continued cohesive partnership with our community agencies.
- Collaborate to ensure that all direct and emergency services are designed and delivered in line with the Agency’s core values.
- Deliver community and professional development presentations.
- Ensure a warm and welcoming environment to visitors, clients, and partners.
- Provide related assistance wherever necessary to help the Agency achieve its goals and embrace and promote the Vera House mission and values.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in social work or related field required. Licensed mental health professional in NYS.
- Three to five years direct service experience with one to two years supervisory experience.
- Thorough knowledge of domestic and sexual violence including elder abuse.
- Ability to work effectively in a crisis orientated setting with diverse individuals, and develop a trauma informed, compassionate rapport with clients.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and teambuilding skills.
- Effective planning, organizational, time management, and administrative skills. Must have the ability to mentor the team to perform duties within the allowed daily parameters.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly adapt to client databases and other software.
- Ability to develop a positive, compassionate rapport with victim/survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or other violent trauma.
- Knowledge of community-based service delivery systems, in particular thorough knowledge of the criminal and civil justice systems. The ability to provide timely response to crisis as well as thorough and consistent follow-up and support with survivors and delivery systems.
- Strong training and facilitation skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within the Agency, including the adaptability to work well under pressure in demanding situations.
- Must be able to demonstrate critical thinking and have the ability to solve complex problems.

SALARY RANGE
$75K-$80K annual salary/exempt
