The Server Assistant is crucial in assisting servers with the flow of service. Server Assistants will have a lot of contact with guests and need to be knowledgeable about all aspects of the restaurant. If they don’t know an appropriate response, they will seek it. They will be snappy with their knowledge, quick on their feet, and calm of mind and body.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere diligently to established service standards and protocols to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the server assistant area, ensuring that supplies are adequately stocked before, during, and after shifts. Promptly notify a manager if any supplies need replenishing.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in the dining room and bar area throughout service.
  • Proactively pre-bus tables during guests' dining experiences to maintain a tidy and inviting environment.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly after guests have left to prepare for the next seating.
  • Assist hosts by keeping track of table statuses (clean, dirty, or occupied) to facilitate efficient seating arrangements.
  • Support servers and bartenders by running food, refilling guests' drinks, and assisting with various tasks throughout shifts.
  • Interact with guests following proper etiquette guidelines, ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate a strong, upbeat, and positive demeanor, reflecting a commitment to high standards with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Possess a genuine passion for food, beverage, and hospitality, contributing to a vibrant and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Excel in multitasking within a high-volume, fast-paced environment, maintaining composure and efficiency under pressure.
  • Foster a team-oriented mentality, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals and uphold a culture of excellence.
  • Exhibit unwavering dependability and reliability, consistently delivering outstanding performance and service excellence.

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience as a server assistant or similar role in a hospitality setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry items as needed.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and service.

Working Conditions/Environment

  • The person having this position may have to stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day.
  • Agility in executing fast-paced movements to navigate different areas of the property efficiently.
  • The person having this responsibility may have to move, pull, carry, or lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
