Position Summary:
- Welcome customers warmly when they enter the bank: calling them by name (if known)
- Help customers over the phone; answering on the first ring if available
- Ensure and maintain excellence customer service when engaging with customers.
- Evaluate customer requests for service charge refunds and process necessary paperwork to refund customer service charges as necessary
- Research and resolve customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between other bank departments when necessary
- Represent the Bank in a manner that maintains and expands positive relations with all customers, potential customers and co-workers
- Help customers understand what is happening with their money and to feel confident in the bank’s ability to help
- Maintain a high degree of product knowledge to explain the bank's products and services
- Contact customers to obtain necessary signatures and documentation on accounts due to an exception or missing information
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained
- Maintain professional appearance and behavior for customers
- Daily process and complete all account openings and closings including, but not limited to checking accounts, savings accounts, business accounts, money markets, and Safe Deposit Boxes. Maintain proper security and exercise good judgment in opening and closing bank accounts ensuring that you comply and that current procedures are followed.
- Process secured, unsecured, line of credit, auto, and miscellaneous loan applications in person and by phone, and notify applicants of the loan decisions
- Open IRA accounts, rollovers, transfers, distributions, and account closing
- Input, maintain and/ or delete ATM and Debit Cards within system
- Assist customers with accessing their safe deposit accounts. Open and close the safe deposits
- Perform the following customer transactions: add & remove joint owners, order checks, issue stop payments, debit cards, adjust accounts (within parameters), ACH revocation, wire transfers, gift cards
- Complete paperwork and follow established process for customer fraud in a timely manner
- Conduct transactions effectively and efficiently within the bank compliance standards
- Perform teller duties when needed, to include processing customer transactions, ordering cash from the Federal Reserve Bank, verifying cash received, filling teller cash orders, maintaining vault security and balancing vault cash as required
- Serve as vault teller of the financial center, to include ordering cash from the FED, verifying cash received, filling teller cash orders, maintaining vault security and balancing vault cash as required
- Comply with all bank’s policies, procedures and regulations
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of policies and procedures and trends in the banking industry, with attention to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Privacy Act and with robbery procedures as well as other State and Federal regulations
- Actively participate in training programs to maintain and acquire additional job knowledge and skills
- Actively promote and sell the Citizens Trust Bank’s full line of financial services in person or by phone by asking appropriate questions, assessing customers’ needs and offering alternative solutions
- Contribute to the fulfillment of department and banks goals and objectives
- Consistently meet or exceed sales goals as set by Client Relationship Manager by effectively cross-selling bank products and services to both current and potential customers.
- Consistently executes the Sales process (Opportunity, Needs Assessment, Fulfillment and Follow Up) and seeks opportunities to deliver distinctive customer service interaction
- Reach out to potential customers to generate new business offering bank solutions
- Present financial products and services to existing and prospective customers
- Responsible for referring sales opportunities to other lines of businesses
- Allocate and coordinate the workflow for associates within the financial center
- Assist with creating, maintaining and reviewing required reports
- Assist with the Branch opening and closing
- Perform notary services as needed
- Meet with manager to assist with establishing goals and objectives for associates
- Provide input on associated performance for annual performance reviews
- Complete all reports and documentation to ensure quality of daily work
- Attend all staff meetings and bank sponsored events
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision to the Teller staff, and Teller Supervisor by assisting with coaching, training and the development
- Maintain an efficient, orderly financial center
- Assist with scheduling work hours and breaks for associates
- Provide support to the Client Relationship Manager and the Assistant Client Relationship Manager
- Be responsive and timely with correspondence and problem resolution, and display a caring attitude
- Must adhere to all policies and procedures including customer confidentiality
- Must be able to handle several responsibilities at one time
- Must display good and effective communications verbally and in writing
- Teamwork and Cooperation – Must be a team player with a cooperative attitude
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is preferred
- Prior banking experience preferred
- Prior banking experience preferred
- Prior supervisory work experience is not necessary but preferred
- Extensive cash handling, which requires ability to perform basic math functions
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to interact with various levels of employees and management
- Extensive contact with the public, necessitating the ability to present and always remain professional
- The ability to make sound decisions; This may include making on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions; weighing customer satisfaction issues with the Bank’s exposure to loss or fraud and the ability to think through and rationalize decisions
- Ability to properly read and write well enough to communicate in both oral and written for in-depth knowledge of banking policies, procedures and regulations to perform with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact well with co-workers and management
- Must have the ability to demonstrate a sales initiative
- Need to have flexibility in scheduling and can multi-task
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds of force
- Ability to travel, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, reach, and stand for various lengths of time and meet other physical demands required to perform the job
