Production Assistant – Supporting Excellence in Manufacturing Operations

Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about contributing to a productive manufacturing environment? We're seeking a Production Assistant to support the operations of for our client's Plant Manager. Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager, this role combines administrative, technical, and logistical responsibilities to ensure seamless production processes and efficient daily operations.

Your Role:

As a Production Assistant, you'll play a vital role in maintaining quality standards, optimizing production workflows, and fostering collaboration across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Perform end-of-shift quality checks, inspecting production logs and processes to ensure conformance to quality and safety standards.
  • Data Management: Gather, analyze, and report production data, including rates, yields, inventory, raw material usage, and quality control outcomes.
  • Inventory Coordination: Conduct weekly counts of raw materials and finished products, ensuring accurate reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager.
  • Communication: Relay production updates, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities to the management team.
  • Scheduling: Organize training sessions, safety meetings, and other team events, ensuring timely and efficient communication with employees.
  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Liaise with external parties to address supply issues and facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Set up meetings and video conferences, prepare agendas, and distribute meeting notes.
  • Resource Management: Monitor and control inventory for production items such as PPE, chemicals, and cleaning tools, ensuring availability for operations.
  • Project Support: Prioritize, plan, and manage production activities to meet objectives within time and budget constraints.

Working Conditions:

  • Split time between indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Exposure to moderate noise, dust, and some chemicals, all within OSHA-approved levels.
  • Regular interaction with colleagues across departments and occasional travel between plants.

Schedule & Hours:

  • 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with a set schedule.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with a commitment to following safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in handling administrative and technical responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance experience is highly desirable.
