As a Food Production Assistant you will select and pack and count food for Child Feeding products by location for daily delivery as directed. Responsibilities include supporting the production kitchen to produce meals of the highest quality for our various programs in accordance with our recipes, production procedures, and safety protocols.

What you’ll do in your role: 

  • Pick all orders accurately and timely by locating products and transporting all products to the staging or loading areas
  • Prepare workstations for daily use including preparing different meals according to daily meal production and preparation guidelines using various ingredients and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure all staged sites are packed, checked for accuracy
  • Assists in the receiving of ordered food product and supplies from external vendor or Foodbank and moves to the appropriate staging and storage areas
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork including pull sheets, invoices, and other paperwork in a timely fashion
  • Prepares ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; adjusting seasonings; verifying taste; and packaging meals
  • Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature according to ServSafe and state guidelines

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

  • High school graduate or equivalent and at least 3 years of hands-on experience working in high volume food-service operation.
  • ServSafe® certified, or equivalent, in safe food handling (or willingness to work towards certification).
  • Self-directed; able to multi-task and work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills; high energy level; flexibility; discretion
  • Experience operating a pallet jack or wiliness to learn is a plus
