Responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements, running accounting software programs (e.g. SAP) to process business transactions, perform accounts payable and receivable duties, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts.

Position will also be responsible for cross training with a Production Scheduler position to provide backup coverage when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Position reports to Plant Manager.
  • Provides accounting and clerical support.
  • Processes invoices. Researches, tracks and restores accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Types accurately, prepares and maintains accounting documents and records.
  • Prepares bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
  • Perform data entry of financial transactions in database.
  • Provides assistance and clerical support to plant personnel.
  • Informs management and compiles reports/summaries on activity areas.
  • Functions in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Distributes incoming mail and delivers outgoing mail.
  • Performs routine filing of manual paperwork in accordance with record retention policies.
  • Update production posting boards daily.
  • Provides backup support to Production Scheduler.
    • Assist in the planning and creation of the daily production schedules while balancing customer requested order due dates with production plant capacity for optimal performance.
    • Assists in issuing/tracking production orders, ensuring that required materials are reviewed in accordance with managing the daily production schedule process.
    • Generate shipping orders, tickets, remakes, etc. - documents related to the production schedule.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to generate reports and calculations.

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and provide quick responses to management.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree in accounting preferred or High School diploma or GED with minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience supporting a production manufacturing plant a plus along with experience in supply chain management/logistics and production scheduling.
  • Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk or Production Clerk for a manufacturing organization.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
  • Strong competent user of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), databases and accounting software.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for numbers.
  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks.
  • Data entry and word processing skills.
  • Well organized and strong time management skills.
