Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient production of our solar panels. This position will require you to effectively manage staff and scheduling to ensure we meet our daily, monthly and yearly production metrics. Additionally, the Production Manager will also work closely with our Maintenance & Reliability and Quality teams to ensure that every panel produced is of the highest quality.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all production process and teams within Washington operations.
  • Oversee and manage all production supervisors.
  • Plan and execute the production schedule.
  • Set, plan and meet all production targets and goals.
  • Review and adjust production schedule as needed.
  • Ensure the timely completion of all direct-report employee reviews.
  • Coach and guide all production team members, with the goal of improving overall competency of the production staff.
  • Manage human and material resources needed to meet production targets.
  • Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for production operations.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures.
  • Set and monitor product quality standards.
  • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
  • Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems.
  • Determine and implement improvements to the production process.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports.
  • Estimate production costs.
  • Set and manage production budgets, implementing cost control and cost saving programs.
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between departments including quality, engineering, maintenance procurement, logistics, warehouse, and management.
  • Monitor KPI's looking at OEE and labour hours per watt/panel.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ADP software
  • Hand-eye coordination, Manual dexterity
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Deep knowledge of production management
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of production experience
  • Minimum 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of process improvement, budgeting, and production standards

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years' experience as a production manager in a manufacturing plant
  • Experience with production planning, controls, and instrumentation

Additional Information

Compensation and Benefits
  • $85,000 - $110,000 / year DOE
