Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of rubber-to-metal production, including planning, scheduling, workflow management, quality control, and team supervision.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize bonding processes, reduce defects, and improve overall product durability.
  • Drive lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance throughput in rubber-to-metal operations.
  • Monitor daily production metrics, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions to achieve production targets and quality standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on productivity, cost-efficiency, and safety within the production environment.
  • Work closely with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and uptime, reducing downtime in critical production areas.
  • Mentor, train, and develop production staff, promoting a culture of accountability, skill development, and safety.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal supply of raw materials while minimizing excess stock.
  • Assist in planning and executing capital projects, including equipment upgrades, process improvements, and facility enhancements.
  • Enforce compliance with safety and environmental regulations, particularly those related to rubber-to-metal bonding processes.
  • Maintain and uphold production documentation, including work instructions, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production management role, with a focus on rubber-to-metal or similar bonding manufacturing.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting production issues and implementing process improvements specific to rubber-to-metal production.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop production teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in production management software (ERP/MRP systems) and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance standards, including ISO 9001 and OSHA safety requirements.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in rubber product manufacturing for the automotive or heavy equipment industries.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and other automotive quality standards.
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques, such as automation, predictive maintenance, and data analytics for process optimization.
