Located in West Valley City, UT
Full-time
Shift: Day Shift - 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday - Thursday)
Position Description
SilencerCo is seeking an experienced and driven Production Planner to work alongside manufacturing to support production goals. The planner will be responsible for scheduling production across various value streams. The planner will also be responsible for structuring, modeling, and performing analysis to support the road map for business strategies and production capacity changes. You will work with a skilled team, manage and implement planning processes, and ensure our products are produced and delivered on time. This position is critical in maintaining our reputation for excellence and driving operational efficiency within the organization. In addition, this role is responsible for helping set the team's tone and fostering an environment that helps to facilitate collaboration, teamwork, and individual growth. This position reports directly to the Planning Manager.
- A background in production planning is required
- Experience in CNC machining or metal fabrication is preferred
Job Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing by creating production schedules that reconcile production capacity with demand for fabricated components, following the factory's master schedule
- Perform analysis that supports defining the roadmap for production capacity increases/change
- Work with manufacturing & support teams to establish & improve processes (e.g. production batch sizes, material transfer processes & controls) for just-in-time delivery
- Respond to unanticipated changes-e.g. production shortfall vs. schedule or material shortages: provide information, impact assessment, and options to downstream operations, revise production schedules and or mix as needed
- Generate and publish production performance metrics and forecasts showing potential risks of supplying and meeting the demand plan
- Communicating plans, plan revisions, and plan vs. actual to all Manufacturing, support, and business stakeholders
- Aid in the sales and operational planning process
- Assist in implementing systematic solutions to control inventory flow, minimize shortages
- Collaborate with Supply chain and Engineering to coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to plan for material and product end-of-life and minimize obsolescence
- Complete other duties assigned by management as business needs shift or change
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated high-volume production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with a minimum of 2-year experience structuring and building planning and analytical models
- Ability to spot process improvement opportunities and influence others to make change
- Good organizational and project management skills. (role requires juggling long-term projects, daily tasks, and urgent questions)
- Ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to recognize opportunities for improvement in operations and reporting/information visibility
- MS Excel experience required (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.). More advanced Excel modeling skills are a plus
- Experience working in multiple ERP systems is preferred
- Excellent understanding of demand planning, theory of constraints, resource management, and finite planning
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
