Location: Indiana (Central/Eastern Region)
Salary: $65k–$75k annually + 5% annual bonus eligibility
Shift: Night shift, 7 PM–7 AM (2-2-3 rotating schedule)
Team Structure: Supervises 30–35 hourly union employees
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Production Supervisor to lead and support production teams on a 12-hour rotating night shift schedule. The role involves driving team performance, maintaining production goals, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about developing teams and improving processes. Prior experience in food manufacturing is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Supervision: Schedule and assign daily tasks, providing clear guidance and oversight to production employees. Supervise teams to meet daily production goals and uphold company standards.
- Training and Development: Work closely with less-experienced employees to provide on-the-job training and coaching.
- Problem Solving: Address equipment variances and production issues, collaborating with teams to implement corrective actions and ensure follow-through.
- Operational Oversight: Monitor critical production processes, including receiving, processing, filling, packaging, and equipment maintenance, to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Safety and Compliance: Promote and enforce workplace safety, conduct accident investigations, and ensure compliance with company policies and food safety regulations.
- Communication: Facilitate team meetings, maintain clear communication across departments, and document shift activities, including production reports and variances.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Accountability: Administer discipline fairly, resolve employee grievances, and maintain positive working relationships within a unionized environment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- 2–5 years in a manufacturing environment, ideally in food or beverage production.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including team lead or supervisory roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfort with production reporting software. Experience with JDE systems is a plus (training provided if needed).
- Schedule Flexibility: Must be comfortable working a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.
