JOB SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001in addition to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost by supervising and coordinating the activities of production: such as scheduling, machine operators, machine set-up workers, packers and plant maintenance.

As a link between production staff and upper management, the Production Supervisor monitors workflow, assesses and allocates resources, and collaborates with other departments to address any issues that may impact production schedules. This role requires strong organizational skills, strong leadership, and the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively while staying adaptable to the fast-paced nature of manufacturing. Additionally, Production Supervisors must continuously seek opportunities to enhance productivity and reduce costs without compromising quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manages production safety to include assuring safe work practices, identifying and managing near-miss accidents and avoiding/correcting any unsafe conditions.
  • Analyze performance metrics and generate reports for upper management.
  • Meet and exceed company profitability objectives on new and existing products.
  • Establishes, manages, organizes and supervises production including materials, machines and employees, ensuring timely completion of production.
  • Identifies and trains working leaders to supervise areas of production and ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Fosters positive working relationships.
  • Work closely with other departments and teams to address production related issues and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Manages employee performance, attendance, overtime and annual review process.
  • Responds proactively to performance concerns, discipline, employee complaints and other employee relations matters.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends in manufacturing and the industry.
  • Assures procedures are in place, are being followed and continuously improve.
  • Familiar with Lean practices.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
  • Maintain awareness on company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness on company objectives for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Support the company's continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate communication skills, both written and verbally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Achievement of revenue goals and objectives.
  • Achievement of company profitability objectives on new products.
  • Effective management of production department.
  • Effectively communicates with all departments.
  • Compliance with Company Policies (i.e. Safety, Attendance, etc.).
  • Support the company's vital few metrics including customer satisfaction, financial performance, and operational excellence.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Regular attendance is expected and required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum five years' experience supervising/managing quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, Business, or another related field)
  • Demonstrated history of leadership, change management, process improvement, analyzing information, strategic planning, verbal and written communication, emphasizing excellence, attention to detail, dealing with complexity.

SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other)
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems) or specialized production management software is essential for tracking production schedules, inventory, and performance metrics.
  • Able to effectively present information to managers.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Office

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to analyze, understand and effectively communicate deep technical material.
  • Ability to work in a demanding user environment - work under pressure.
  • Good oral/written communications.
  • Ability to get along with diverse personalities, good reasoning abilities and make sound judgment.
  • Be able to work in a production environment that is moderately noisy always requiring the use of hearing protection, eye protection and safety shoes.
