Ninth Planet Beverage Solutions is seeking a Production Technician to perform equipment changeovers for our canned beverage lines and to ensure our production equipment is maintained and operational to maximize runtime.

Job Summary: The Production Technicians job is an integral piece of all our operations at Ninth Planet. The Production Technician reports directly to the Senior Manager of Logistics and Infrastructure and is responsible for efficiently changing over production equipment to fill different sized canned beverages, performing preventative and on demand maintenance to ensure that the production machines remain operational, and assisting with the production process.


Position: Full-Time

Work location: Saratoga Springs

Schedule: Monday-Friday, involving day/night schedule depending on production

Wage: $25.00/hr depending on experience


Core Responsibilities include:


  • Changeover production equipment per the production schedule and have equipment ready to go for production runs based on can size (slim, sleek and standard)
    • Equipment for change overs includes: filler, seamer, cartoner, tray former and shrink bundler
  • Familiarity with and perform on demand and preventative maintenance on all equipment to ensure machines remain safe and operational to maximize run time.
    • Including fillers, seamers, cartoners, tray former, shrink bundler, blending and carbonation systems, label applicators, depalletizers, air compressors, chillers, s-grip lowerators, and conveyors etc.
  • Modifying machine settings like temperature, pressure, and speed to meet the new product requirements.
  • Coordinating the cleaning of production lines and equipment to prevent contamination between product changes.
  • Performing qualification inspections to ensure the new product meets quality standards before full production starts.
  • Identifying and resolving issues that may arise during the changeover process.
  • Schedule and perform changeovers and preventative maintenance that minimizes downtime and supports reaching client deadlines.
  • Work on the production line when needed
  • Able to train Line Operators to assist with any regular cleaning/maintenance of equipment that is required on a daily/production run basis
  • Safely operate all equipment as part of a team effort of Safety First
  • Ensure all products are manufactured and shipped safely by following Good Manufacturing Practices and Safe Quality Food standard

Qualification


  • 2+ years experience changing over production equipment
  • 2+ years experience performing maintenance on production equipment Experience working in a brewery/winery/distillery or food and beverage production environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with KHS Can-C Innofill Filler and Seamers and Switchback/MPAC BP-200 Cartonizers is required.
  • Experience with manufacturing machinery, welding, electrical and plumbing strongly preferred
  • Tech Savvy Able to use Google Suites and in-house app for communication and record keeping


Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly on a daily basis, and stand for duration of shift
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills and attention to detail will enable success in the role.
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and timely.
