Description
Performs routine chemical productions and process developments based on provided work instructions and training in a safe and high-quality manner. Works collaboratively with internal laboratory production colleagues, R&D, operations, and quality during directed development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs and completes routine chemical production based on written procedures or direct instruction within expected timelines.
- Ability to set up all required equipment for production of products and other related activities.
- Evaluates his/her projects/production (e.g. in process parameters and quality control measures) and offers suggestions for improvements.
- Capable of running routine in-process control tests based upon written and direct instructions.
- Responsible for maintaining a clear and detailed lab notebook and production records.
- Responsible for maintaining neat, clean and safe work area.
- Performs other duties of similar complexity as directed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in chemistry or engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in general inorganic and organic chemistry.
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory chemical processes and techniques.
- Experience working with products that may pose special hazards, such as air-sensitive, moisture-sensitive, pyrophoric, high-energy, toxic, high-potency, etc., as well as synthetic organic, organometallic, or inorganic chemistries and associated equipment and techniques (e.g., glove boxes, Schlenk techniques).
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Capacity to work independently and handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in collaboration tools such as Teams, Salesforce, SharePoint, and Electronic notebooks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or engineering with 0-2+ years of relevant experience.
