Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cooling & Heating, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles.
• Strong background in the cooling or refrigeration industry preferred.
Skills:
• Expertise in manufacturing processes (e.g., assembly, brazing, sheet metal), 5S practices, and quality control principles.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems; strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
• Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a focus on achieving results.
• Hands-on management style with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Role Overview
As a key member of the Operations leadership team, the Production Director will oversee production operations to ensure they meet or exceed efficiency, quality, and safety standards. The ideal candidate has significant experience in manufacturing within the refrigeration or cooling industry, a strong record of stability in previous roles, and proven leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Management:
• Develop and manage annual budgets to achieve expense rate targets.
• Monitor and optimize production schedules, manage resource allocation, and control overtime and energy consumption.
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, encouraging employee participation in improvement projects.
2. Productivity Management:
• Establish and achieve annual efficiency targets with regular performance analysis.
• Collaborate with process engineering teams to enhance production workflows.
• Monitor production cycles and implement improvements to achieve productivity goals.
3. Team Leadership:
• Create a structured organizational plan aligned with company strategy and delegate responsibilities effectively.
• Oversee employee performance evaluations and develop key talent through cross-training and development programs.
• Foster employee satisfaction through regular communication and engagement initiatives to reduce turnover.
4. Quality Assurance:
• Set and maintain quality standards, ensuring compliance with company procedures and quality management systems.
• Collaborate with the quality team to address customer requirements and oversee audits and inspections.
• Enhance awareness of quality control measures across all production levels.
5. Safety and Compliance:
• Enforce workplace safety policies and compliance with local regulations.
• Promote and implement 5S practices to maintain organization and cleanliness on the production floor.
• Oversee environmental and safety-related initiatives to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
6. Equipment and Process Management:
• Supervise equipment maintenance and ensure operational reliability.
• Lead initiatives to implement new tools, technologies, and processes for production enhancement.
7. New Project Implementation:
• Lead the integration of new products, technologies, and processes into the production system.
• Ensure successful execution of key projects while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
