Overview:

The Production Manager will oversee the sourcing and production process from concept to delivery at the distribution center. This role ensures timely product launches and effective communication between cross-functional teams and vendors.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities:
  • Manage the workflow of production orders from issuance through to delivery.
  • Maintain daily communication with vendors to track production milestones and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Collaborate with Design, Development, and Merchandising teams to facilitate product commercialization.
  • Monitor development steps to ensure production schedules commence on time.
  • Proactively troubleshoot potential factory issues and implement resolutions to avoid production delays.
  • Adhere to Seasonal Calendar timelines for successful product launches.
  • Partner with Forecasting and Planning teams to relay relevant information to vendors regarding monthly orders.
  • Participate in system and process upgrades, initiating new protocols as necessary.
  • Liaise with material suppliers as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate any style or material/trim changes to vendors promptly.
  • Review and update production schedules weekly, keeping cross-functional teams informed.
  • Track shipment schedules and monitor air orders, adjusting dates as necessary.
  • Exercise decision-making authority under the supervision of the VP of Sourcing & Production.
  • Travel to factories as required to oversee operations and address any issues on-site.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in apparel production and manufacturing.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), with knowledge of PLM, SCM, and ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
  • Data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Relevant experience in the apparel and fashion industry is a plus.

Compensation:

$100,000 - $110,000. Kindthread encourages applications from candidates at all levels, and pay will be based on experience.
