ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Production:

  • Responsible for the attainment of profit designated for batching department through control of labor, material, and overhead costs. Maintains labor headcount to coincide with Pre Determined Profit targets.


  • Ensures proper storage and securing of all inventories.


  • Ensures a high level of efficiency, productivity, and utilization of all resources.Researches and tests new procedures, techniques, machinery, and materials (as directed) to lower variable unit costs.


  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.


  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates with purchasing to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications, as well as prevent stock outs/delays.


  • Prepares and reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.


  • Establishes, reviews, and revises unit standards of production (labor hours, material usage, waste, etc.) for each step or phase, by product to be used in bills of material for production planning and cost control. Conducts time/motion/productivity studies to validate proper standards. Maintains an accurate bill of material for each product produced.


  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.


  • Develops or revises Standard Operating Procedures and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.


  • Develops and maintains new and existing employee training programs for all positions


  • Compiles, stores, retrieves, and produces production data on a detailed, timely, and accurate basis.


Warehouse:

  • Suggests layout of warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored. Maintains location codes for all stock on shelves and in the system.


  • Ensures the accurate and immediate data entry of all materials in or out of the warehouse. Verifies counts on receiving and shipping, and on all bills of lading and packing lists. Verifies all stock transfers are entered in the system.


  • Ensures the security of stock by maintaining all gates and doors be locked, except when in use.


  • Trains employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.


  • Daily reviews on hand stock and fills out purchase requisitions for items that are low or out of stock to prevent stock outs.


  • Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.


  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and employees compliance with established standard operating procedures.


  • Schedules work and prepares for cyclical and periodic inventories.


  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.


  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.


  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.


  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.


  • Adjusts errors and complaints


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position directly supervises the following positions:
  • Hourly Plant personnel (2 FT/2 PT)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in a technical or management discipline and at least five of experience or suitable combination of experience and education.

  • Develops or revises Standard Operating Procedures and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. Develops and maintains new and existing employee training programs for all positions.


Warehouse Measures:

  • Ensures the accurate and immediate data entry of all materials in or out of the warehouse.


  • Ensures the security of all stock by maintaining all gates/doors locked and no other personnel to handle product off the shelves.


  • Verifies counts on receiving and shipping, and on all bills of lading and packing lists.


  • Verifies all stock transfers are entered in the system.


  • Ensures that all pull lists for technicians are filled and recorded accurately.


  • Daily reviews on hand stock and fills out purchase requisitions for items that are low or out of stock to prevent stock outs.


  • Schedules driver routes based on delivery priority and distance.


  • Schedules and prepares stock for cyclical and periodic inventories.
