Overview

The Legal Recruiting Assistant supports the Legal Recruiting team and works with the Firm's Recruiting Committee. The candidate will coordinate and assist in the execution of all legal recruiting efforts at the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the recruiting team with respect to law student recruiting, international lawyer recruiting and summer associate programs
  • Assist with recruiting season processes, including reviewing candidate application materials, applicant tracking, interviewer material preparation, organizing debriefing materials, preparing feedback forms, inputting interview schedules, updating grade book, preparing correspondence and distributing invites and decline emails
  • Input all appropriate applicant information into the Firm's recruiting database and utilize reporting functionality to analyze data; maintain files and status of candidates during recruiting season; and generate all correspondence letters to candidates
  • Complete law school registration forms, process fees and firm marketing packages
  • Greet applicants upon arrival and escorting them to interviews
  • Collect and enter interview evaluations for candidates
  • Maintain various Recruiting and Summer Committee distribution lists
  • Assist with and execute all recruiting processes related to 1L Summer Associate hiring
  • Coordinate on-campus outreach to student organizations, including tracking, planning and attending events for first year law students
  • Assist with planning and execution of spring initiatives and process requests for designated schools
  • Maintain and track all law school sponsorship requests and related follow up
  • Liaise with student groups and organize fireside chats
  • Organize and administer the summer associate program in the New York Office. Coordinate and assist in the execution of summer associate onboarding, orientation, event logistics, training and development programs, summer associate work allocation and evaluation processes
  • Assist with planning summer associate and recruiting events, including research of venues, distributing event reminders, collecting RSVP's, distributing tickets and preparing expense reports
  • Assist in information/record keeping for the Summer Program, including maintaining, collecting information and compiling data from the summer associate onboarding database, maintaining and updating summer related lists, and coordinating and updating the Summer Assignment Database
  • Prepare bulletin notices regarding all summer associate announcements
  • Coordinate event invitations with Graphic Design
  • Maintain summer and recruiting budgets for Legal Recruiting Manager
  • Assist with collecting and drafting summer associate evaluations
  • Track and maintain summer associate mentor activities including coordinating activities for mentors
  • Provide general support for law schools teams throughout the year
  • Assist with the LL.M recruiting process including sourcing resumes and office participation in the various job fairs
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the In-House LL.M Job Fair
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a fast-paced law firm or professional services environment
  • Solid knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint required. Advanced skill in MS Excel and knowledge of viRecruit a plus
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, efficient at multi-tasking and able to handle time-sensitive projects with oftentimes competing tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player
  • A high energy level and professional demeanor
  • Flexibility in working outside business hours to meet operating needs, particularly during the summer

The estimated base salary for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This role is non-exempt meaning that it is overtime pay eligible.
