Summary
The Manufacturing Assembler is responsible for using various hand and power tools to assemble parts according to work instructions to meet customer specifications and quality standards in a safe manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare work to be accomplished by studying work instructions, blueprints, customer drawings and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, hand tools and materials needed to complete tasks
- Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures to manufacture sub-assemblies per customer and quality requirements
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and measuring instruments including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, height gauges, measuring tapes, etc.
- Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments
- Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Supervisor or applicable personnel (i.e. Management, Quality Control Inspectors, Engineering staff, etc.) to obtain clarification, minimizing scrap and error rate
- Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and calling for repairs when necessary (i.e. oiling pneumatic air tools, etc.)
- Comply with policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory guidelines per company quality system notifying applicable personnel of quality issues
- Complete all administrative functions related to business or quality systems (i.e. Production Logs, etc.)
- Maintain continuity among work shifts and/or departments by documenting and communicating actions taken, irregularities that occurred and continuing needs
- Ensure work assignments are carried out to the highest quality ensuring customer specifications are met
- Provide hands-on job function training to co-workers as needed
- Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed supplies, reporting shortages to applicable personnel
- Carry out all orders of Management efficiently while harmoniously working as part of a team to meet company goals
- Follow all company policies and procedures, maintaining a professional relationship with colleagues, customers, vendors and associates
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in order to facilitate manufacturing functions
- Utilize computerized data entry equipment and various word processing, spreadsheet and file maintenance programs to enter, store and/or retrieve information
- Maintain and update filing and database systems either manually or using a computer
- Manage time to determine priorities in order to effectively accomplish a broad range of activities
- Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the customer’s experience
- Communicate in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner with all employees, customers, management, and others with whom we may work.

Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing assembly experience
- Previous experience using hand tools (i.e., hand tools, die cutter press, etc.)
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate effectively in the English language
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to professionally and efficiently complete manufacturing tasks
- Ability to work collectively with team members
- Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Professional appearance

- Position in a warehouse environment and requires the use of various types of equipment (hand tools, power tools, etc.)
