Position: Manufacturing Technician

Manufacturing Technicians (MTs) are hands-on technical resources that are primarily involved in trouble shooting and fixing laser microjet machines in our Micro Machining center in New Jersey and throughout the Eastern part of the United States.

The primary role of the Manufacturing Technician is supporting our customer base and the ability to diagnose and fix customers' machines or manufacturing processing issues either by phone or in the field. With a secondary emphasis on maintaining Synova' s internal equipment used in testing and application development and assisting with programming, setup and operation of our own patented CNC controlled Laser MicroJet systems.

The MT must work closely with customers, internal application engineers, administrative and sales personnel to meet customer demands. Self-motivated and self-managed, the MT must be able to work with little or no supervision.

Primary Functions:

  • Strong mechanical and electronic trouble shooting skills.
  • Able to read and comprehend electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Experience with CNC machines / Automation experience is a plus
  • Intermediate level of analytical problem-solving ability.
  • Proven analytical skills and technical judgment.
  • Laser experience a plus.
  • The candidate of choice is hands on, adept with hand tools and equipment, with strong attention to detail.
  • Safety conscious

Requirements

For this position, we are looking for candidates with the following profile:


  • Technical degree with 1-3 years previous technical experience
  • Responsible for machine inspecting, collecting data and preparing job reports.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, customer statements of work and specifications obtained from emails, conference calls, and other means of correspondence.
  • Complete assignments as directed, with minimal supervision
  • Document new procedures as they are developed.
  • Assist Application Engineers and service technicians and other staff members, as necessary for special tasks.
  • Help with setting up, operating and maintaining Laser Microjet CNC machines in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Must possess organizational and time management skills.
  • Dynamic and result driven attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Computer skills (Windows and Microsoft Applications). CAD/CAM experience is a plus.
