We have a live opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading provider of high-quality lighting and power solutions who have a legacy of excellence going back over 130 years.
Due to expansion and growth our client is actively seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineer to join their industry leading business. The Manufacturing Engineer will support the success of production through continuous improvements and streamlining processes.
Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer:
- Champion process development through manufacturing and production.
- Qualify and improve manufacturing techniques, processes, and work instructions for production lines.
- Lead Lean / Six Sigma projects and for continuous improvements in production and manufacturing.
- Perform process flow analysis, time studies, and productivity evaluations for all production areas.
- Produce detailed work instructions and process steps for assembly production lines.
- Ensure low defect manufacturing through the use of DFM and PFMEA methodologies.
- Guide and influence factory expansion plans regarding correct layouts, machinery, and processes.
- Work closely with customers and vendors to ensure consistent quality and resolution of problems.
Experience for the Manufacturing Engineer:
- Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing engineering and /or process improvements.
- BS degree in manufacturing / mechanical engineering highly desirable.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies (6-sigma, 5S, Continuous Improvement) is a plus.
- Familiarity with PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DFM (Design For Manufacturability).
- Project management experience in dealing with customers, timelines, vendors, and budgets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees, suppliers, and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
