Summary

We are looking for a talented manufacturing engineer to oversee and improve manufacturing processes at Williams, White & Company. The manufacturing engineer's responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, driving continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, as well as ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards.To be successful as a manufacturing engineer you should be able to work effectively within a team and have a high level of technical expertise. An outstanding manufacturing engineer should be able to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.

Essential Functions
  1. Assists or provides recommendations to plan, estimate, or schedule production work.
  2. Ensures adherence to safety rules and practices.
  3. Monitors manufacturing processes to identify ways to reduce losses, decrease time requirements, or improve quality.
  4. Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
  5. Recommends corrective or preventive actions to assure or improve product quality or reliability.
  6. Identifies opportunities for improvements in quality, cost, or efficiency of automation equipment.
  7. Monitors existing processes to assure they continue performing at optimal levels of efficiency.
  8. Evaluates manufacturing equipment, materials, or components.
  9. Identifies and/or implements new or sustainable manufacturing technologies, processes, or equipment.
  10. Assists in developing manufacturing infrastructure to integrate or deploy new manufacturing processes.
  11. Assists in developing production, inventory, and/or quality assurance programs.
  12. Manages or assists with work assignments that may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement).
  13. Supports equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer's procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational.
  14. Performs other duties required by the Company.
  15. Effectively interacts with managers, supervisors, and hourly team members across all departments.
  16. Travels on an as needed basis.
  17. Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

Required:
  1. Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering required.
  2. 5+ years manufacturing or industrial engineering required.
  3. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  4. Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  5. Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  6. Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  7. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  8. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  9. Strong Analytical skills and takes initiative.
  10. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  11. High level of technical expertise.
  12. Ability to lead and work independently.
  13. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
  1. Lean manufacturing experience preferred (Six-Sigma Green or Black Belt certification).
  2. Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software preferred.
