Position: Manufacturing Engineer

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000

Position Role Type: 100% Onsite

Location: 104 Peavey Road, Chaska, MN 55318

Purpose of Position:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to help us aspire to our purpose and mission by ensuring our production departments are working safely and efficiently, while delivering a quality product, on-time for our customers.

This position is hands-on and requires a significant amount of time on the manufacturing floor working collaboratively with operators, supervisors, the Production Manager and the Manufacturing Manager. The Manufacturing Engineer will also serve as a key link between sales engineering, production, and other departments, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement through design for manufacturing. This is a high visibility position that is central to supporting a culture of continuous improvement through employee engagement.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor costs, labor efficiency, machine capability, space utilization, etc. and recommend revisions in manufacturing methods as needed.
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Productivity.
  • Lead the integration of new designs/equipment into production and document standard methods for sustained success.
  • Reduce equipment downtime due to tooling changeover through process improvement, equipment modifications, or tool introduction.
  • Drive implementation of capital projects.
  • Lead and participate in 5S activities to create standardized and sustainable department layouts.
  • Participate and actively contribute to Super Radiator Coil's team-oriented design, manufacture, and customer service/support efforts.
  • Operate with autonomy within the scope of an assignment.
  • Apply fundamental Lean and root cause analysis concepts to improve the manufacturing process such as 5 Why, PDCA, 8D, DMAIC, Fishbone.
  • Support Operations, Quality, Sales, and other departments.
  • Manage projects of various size and scope and/or act as Team Lead.


Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Industrial or Mechanical preferred)
  • Three to five years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
  • Action oriented, hands-on person who is excited to solve problems and continuously improve the production environment.
  • Current valid driver's license
