Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Worchester, MA. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for manufacturing engineering activities for all product lines in the facility. This position will include CNC Programming and DMM Administrative responsibilities. Additionally, they are responsible for determining product routing through the plant fabrication, paint, and assembly processes to optimize quality and efficiency. This position will be reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor of the Worcester, MA plant. The expected annual salary range for this role is $65,250 - $95,700 a year. What you’ll do: Determine optimal programming methods, machine tool selection and machine methods to produce parts with the most effective machine time and material conservation. This requires working with Manufacturing Engineering and Design to implement process to realize product design and standardization objectives to allow for industrialization of new and existing products. Implement New Products from design Engineering into manufacturing by programming new parts to be punched on turrets/lasers and assigning shop production routing by loading information into AS400. Supports, develops and maintains robust, cost-efficient processes and product structures, including multiple forms of standard work such as Time Studies, Operations sheets, BOMs, Cross Training charts, routings, item masters, work instructions, control plans, tooling, gauging, and ETC. consistent with continuous improvement practices. DMM Administrative responsibilities include updating machine and employee master tables, creating new accounts, conducting daily validation of DMM for errors in demand (material mismatched or not tooled), setting material standards, and part management. Apply continuous improvement techniques as means to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and deliver quality products to customers expectations through safe processes. Basic (Required) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution 1 year of experience in manufacturing or relevant internship experience, with a focus on manufacturing engineering Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ERP systems (AS/400) and DMM Experience utilizing AutoCAD/ 3D Modeling Prior CNC Programming Experience Experience with continuous improvement and root cause problem solving activities Position Success Criteria: Exposure to Six Sigma design concepts related to problem solving, critical to quality parameters, DFMA and dFMEA etc. A proficient knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and welding methods. Also a broad scope of applicable knowledge in other related design and processing disciplines including (but not limited to) plastic injection molding, plastic and aluminum extrusion, casting, wood fabrication, machining, etc. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize several concurrent projects. Exposure and knowledge related to lean manufacturing processes and tooling requirements. Proficient knowledge of the relationship of ergonomic and aesthetic industrial design concepts as they relate to user interactive product design. Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of typical business applications such as MS Office.
