The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining a safe, efficient, and quality-driven environment. This role involves managing a team of production staff, coordinating resources, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes.

- Team Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production employees.
- Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Develop work schedules and assign tasks to ensure production targets are met.
- Production Oversight:
- Ensure daily production goals are achieved in line with quality and efficiency standards.
- Monitor equipment and workflow to identify and resolve production bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment functionality.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety training and regular inspections to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Address safety incidents promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Quality Control:
- Maintain product quality standards by monitoring production processes.
- Address quality issues and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.
- Implement and document new processes or procedures.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Communicate production updates, challenges, and solutions to management.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, including production reports, timesheets, and inventory logs.
- Act as a liaison between production teams and other departments.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient in using manufacturing software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Office).
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
- This position requires standing for long periods, exposure to noise, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- May involve shift work or extended hours to meet production deadlines.
