JOB SUMMARY:

To develop production part process steps, costs, work instructions, and fixtures/gages for both

stamped, laser/brake, and/or welded components.

I. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS, AND BASIC SKILL LEVELS:

• Associates, Technical or BS in Engineering or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role

• Strong background in SolidWorks

• Technical / hands on knowledge of stamping, laser, brake, MIG welding (robotic and manual)

processes

• Knowledge of GD&T as applies to metal fabrication applications

• Advanced mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of mechanical processes)

• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate engineering principles to customers and

coworkers

• Fluency with Windows and MS Office i.e. Excel and Word

• Basic knowledge in manufacturing business operations

• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English with excellent communication skills

II. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop process and setup parameters for new parts awarded by creating production drawings,

work instructions, control plans, and PFMEA documentation

• Develop new part tooling, fixtures, gages, and part blanks

• Assemble and validate fixtures and gages

• Participate in DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis both internal and with the customer

• Maintain New Product Launch/Quoting database by tracking phase gate completion status

• Assist in completing part quote activity

• Provide engineering support to operations by resolving quality issues involving process capability,

tolerancing, process troubleshooting, and materials related issues.

• Analyze results of process capability studies. Recommend changes to tolerances of tolerance

schemes based upon findings

• Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause

analysis and successful corrective action
