Addison Group Los Angeles, in partnership with a manufacturing company in the San Gabriel Valley, seeks a Controller (Manufacturing).

Job – You will perform various cost accounting duties, including inventory valuation, project accounting, and financial reporting. You will lead an overhaul in the fixed assets accounting SOP. You will manage a team of several accounting professionals.

Job Site Status (online/hybrid/remote) – Our client has an onsite work site policy.

Compensation/Benefits –Salary range is $130,000/year to $150,000/year. Our client supplements base compensation with medical/dental/vision health insurance, 401K match, commuter FSA, and health and wellness programs.

CONTROLLER (MANUFACTURING) TASKS

Cost Accounting (in conjunction with your team of Cost Accountants)

· Use the company’s Material Requirements Planning (MRP) cost accounting system to work with revenue, gross margin, inventory, and variance analysis.

· Calculate Purchase Price Variance (PPV) between projected and actual cost of purchasing materials.

· Prepare monthly Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reports.

· Work on inventory controls and product costing.

· Analyze inventory valuation discrepancies and correct them.

· Value inventory

· Oversee physical/cycle counting.

· Prepare KPI’s (inventory flux analysis, days of supply, inventory turns)

· Maintain standard costs for all raw materials, Work in Process (WIP) inventory, and finished goods)

· Prepare reports for management (fixed assets reporting and balance sheet schedules, including prepaids and accruals)

· Prepare month-end reports such as income statement, balance sheet, and other financial reports.

· Create inventory estimates on an annual basis.

· Support the team in inventory reconciliation.

· Analyze gross margin, other cost of sales, inventory trends, turnover ratios, and production yield data.

· Prepare inventory and manufacturing variances forecasts.

Compliance and Controls

· Assist in all audits involving inventory.

· Assist in maintaining compliance in accordance with SOX 404

Miscellaneous

· Assist FP&A department to support financial planning.

· Accept any other ad hoc requests.

CONTROLLER (MANUFACTURING) QUALIFICATIONS

Required

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience

· At least six (6) years of related work experience in cost accounting

· Current or prior employment at a manufacturing company

Preferred

· CPA

CONTROLLER (MANUFACTURING) SKILLS

Required

Technical

· Advanced-level Excel proficiency

· Exposure to large ERP systems/SaaS systems

Interpersonal

· Ability to work independently.

· Ability to think critically and analytically.

· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
