Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace Components, Chicago Area)

Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a specialized aerospace manufacturing company located 40 minutes outside of Chicago. With a 30+ year legacy in maintaining and repairing aircraft components, our client was recently acquired by a larger industrial group, positioning them for significant growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and optimization of production processes for aerospace components
• Create and maintain critical documentation including SOPs, Manufacturing Orders (MO), and Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Collaborate with Design Engineers to enhance product and tooling requirements
• Perform Materials Review Board (MRB) reviews and implement corrective actions
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through gap analysis and time studies
• Provide hands-on support in various fabrication processes

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
• Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical writing
• Experience working in manufacturing environments with CNC and manual machining operations
• Knowledge of SolidWorks and ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
• CNC programming capabilities
• Experience with manual machining (mills, lathes, band saw)
• Hands-on project experience (automotive, woodworking, metal fabrication)
• TIG welding experience
• Understanding of electro-mechanical systems
• Background in aerospace manufacturing (beneficial but not required)

• Competitive base salary: $90,000 - $110,000
