Position Summary:

This position designs manufacturing production sequences, processes, and procedures for part and assembly manufacturing of VIP aircraft interior monuments and machined detail parts. Products include cabinetry, ceilings/sidewalls, galleys, lavatories, and both small and large machined parts.

Essential Functions:
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of products, and tools/equipment that affect product performance
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques
  • Develops machine routings that enhance productivity, utilize standardized tooling, and improve product throughput
  • Ensures manufacturing plans are in full compliance with customer specifications to include all industry and military specifications for machining/manufacturing to include all inside and outside processes
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
  • Provides guidance to production regarding engineering requirements to best utilize manufacturing techniques to obtain conforming product
  • Manufacturing liaison support
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
  • Creates, design and manipulates solid models, assemblies, layouts and detail drawings
  • Knowledge of quality and certification requirements in regulated manufacturing industries (e.g. AS 9100, FAA, ISO/TSI16949 and ISO 9001)
Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask
  • Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative required
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Experience in a machine shop environment
  • Work independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative
  • Proficient in CAD both 2D and 3D
  • Must be proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM
Education, Certifications and Experience:
  • BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering (preferred)
  • >3 years' experience required
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Working conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.
