We are looking to hire a hard-working custodian to add to our team. Our custodial team is responsible for providing a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for our government partners. This custodian will be responsible for ensuring the buildings and areas that we are responsible for are tidy, clean, and well-maintained. Custodians are responsible for snow removal, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, dust surfaces and floor restoration and maintenance. You will clean walls, restrooms, locker rooms, offices space, warehouses, ceilings, windows, other surfaces, other spaces, and other tasks that will vary. You will help prevent and eliminate indoor pests and be responsible for reporting damage and removing waste.

Typical scheduled hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Hours will vary due to the covering of team members, special projects, and snow removal. Hours can and will vary from 4:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Sunday.
This position offers a starting wage of $20.89 an hour. A retirement benefit of $4.06 an hour, up to 40 hours a week and 2,080 hours a year. While performing snow removal there is a $1.00 per hour increase in wage. Vision, Dental and Health insurance are provided by the International Union of operating Engineers Local No.1, after the probationary period of 30 days and the receipt and approval of all union documents. 7 Sick leave and 2 PTO days are also provided after 30 days but will be prorated based on date of hire. 10 days' vacation will be provided after the 1 year of continues service on the anniversary date and at the beginning of each year thereafter.

Custodian Responsibilities
- Keeps buildings, equipment, and property in clean and orderly condition.
- Perform Snow and ice removal.
- Performs routine floor and equipment maintenance activities.
- Performs heavy cleaning duties.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.
- Gathers and empties trash, compost, recycling and other varies waste and recycling materials.
- Scrubs, sanitizes, and supply, breakroom, restroom, and locker-room and other such facilities.
- Dusts and clean furniture, walls, ledges, doors and much more.
- Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions.
- Properly use and prepare cleaning solutions and chemicals in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions and ensure containers with chemical have the proper label.
- Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
- Extracts, bonnet, scrub or clean carpets and rugs.
- Properly disposes of waste and recycling in the correct container and makes sure it is accurately tracked.
- Helps manage inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Covers for team members leave.
- Perform floor restoration such as but not limited to stripping & waxing.
Other Requirements,
- Will be required to perform duties in multiple buildings throughout the same campus.
- Required to work in a team or independently.
- Required to pass a federal background check and obtain the appropriate security clearance.
- Required to pass a physical and drug test.
- Required to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs. repetitively. This position requires a lot of physical labor, and this position requires it.
- Required to notify manager or leads regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Required to work weekend periodically. This varies, depends on need and is most common in the winter for snow removal.

Custodian Qualifications / Skills:
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods, and procedures.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach for many hours.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time.
- Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, other similar equipment, and cleaning solutions.
- Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.
- Communication skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at heights or difficult positions.
