CUSTODIAN
Department: Parks
Reports to: Hudson-Campbell Manager
Status: Part-Time
Salary: $12,724.55
The custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of a fitness center and the surrounding grounds. Their duties include but are not limited to vacuuming floors, sanitizing restroom facilities and collecting trash to ensure the building's occupants have a clean space.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate will:
Keep building and property in clean and orderly condition.
Perform routine maintenance activities.
Perform heavy cleaning duties.
Sweep, mop, scrub, buff, or vacuum floors.
Gather and empty trash.
Scrub, sanitize, and supply restroom facilities.
Dust furniture, walls and equipment.
Clean windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
Follow procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Clean and polish fixtures and furniture.
Shampoo or steam-clean carpets and rugs.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
Experience using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals
Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety rules
Communication skills
Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights
