Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read chemical labels.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Available to work a variety of shifts.
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office.
- Desire to continue career improvement.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching.
- Requires climbing and balancing.
- Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Must work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors.
General Responsibilities:
- Keep building and premises (including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas) neat and clean at all times.
- Clean classrooms and office floors daily. Dump pencil sharpeners. Dump trash and replace bags. Dust furniture. Line up desks. Clean whiteboards. Clean classroom sinks.
- Work independently and effectively supervise those under his/her supervision.
- Clean corridors each day. Dust locker tops, wash and repair as needed. Clean drinking fountains daily.
- Mop restroom floors and clean all sanitary fixtures daily. Clean mirrors. Fill soap, towel, and toilet paper dispensers.
- Clean large classroom/event areas such as gymnasium, cafeteria, multi-purpose room, auditorium, locker room and stage.
- Replace light bulbs as needed. Remove gum, tape, and marks from floor and walls throughout the building. Dust walls as needed. Clean air return and vent louvers as needed. Dust window ledges. Buff and recoat floor as needed. Wash windows inside and outside at least twice each year, or more frequently if necessary.
- Maintain walks and driveways for safety. Sweep, shovel and sand walks as appropriate.
- Open and close buildings each school day.
- Monitor HVAC systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season to ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electricity. Report problems to district maintenance office.
- Check emergency lights and fire extinguishers, fill in date and initial the tag.
- Check daily to ensure all doors are properly secured and affixed for emergency exit.
- Ensure all doors and windows are secured and all lights are turned off (except as necessary for safety reasons) at the close of school each day.
- Immediately report unauthorized persons to the Principal.
- Immediately report damaged school property to the Supervisor or Principal.
- Move furniture or equipment as directed.
- Make minor building repairs, and promptly report needed major repairs to the Supervisor or Principal.
- Staff members must not exceed 40 hours in a week. More than 40 hours may be assigned, but is not authorized without prior approval from the Assistant Superintendent of Business.
- Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state and federal laws.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, data management and communication.
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements as provided by state and federal law.
- Uphold and enforce board policy, administrative procedures, and school rules/regulations including but not limited to:
- Acceptable use of technology
- Sexual and racial harassment
- Child abuse reporting
- Health and safety including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
- Maintain safe and well-organized instructional spaces.
- Respond to change in a productive manner.
- Strive to communicate the positive aspects of our school program to the public in word and deed.
- Other duties as assigned by administration.
