Job Summary
The Custodian position assists the Custodial Coordinator in keeping the buildings clean. These duties include, but are not limited to: sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, event set ups, cleaning restrooms, washing walls, wiping down white boards, emptying trash, and servicing/maintaining equipment relevant to the department. Uniforms and personal protective equipment will be provided, and must be worn at all times. This position reports to the Custodial Coordinator, and ultimately the Executive Director of Plant Operations. We have a full-time position available for the 2nd shift. Please note shifts very based on availability.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
•Must possess a minimum of a high school degree and have no less than 3 years of experience working in a custodial capacity.
•Must have a valid driver's license.
•Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds safely and independently
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Knowledge of safety practices and procedures relevant to job duties
•Skilled in safe operation of custodial equipment (i.e. carpet shampooer, buffer, vacuum,
•Effective communication whether it be one-on-one or in a group setting
•Able to maintain healthy working relationships with all members of the campus community
•Receive and champion directives from supervisors
•Is able to work efficiently by themselves performing all duties relevant to the position such as setting up events, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, etc.
