Job Title: Custodian
Department: Custodial - Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Spectrum Management, LLC has been serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 24 years and provides a comprehensive array of services that include construction management, facilities management and real estate development services. Spectrum is currently seeking a Custodian who will have the primary responsibility of cleaning our Consolidated Forensics Laboratory (CFL) location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Follows and completes the facility’s daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule.
· Collects and bags all garbage from the facility, placing the tied bags in a closed dumpster
· Disinfects and cleans garbage and trashcans, and changes bags daily
· Washes bathrooms fixtures daily
· Wet mops all washable floors daily including break room, bathrooms, offices, lobby and hallways
· Washes bathroom, kitchen, classroom and other windows (inside and outside) and walls as scheduled or needed
· Vacuums all carpeting daily
· Sweeps and clears entrance spaces, daily
· Dusts, washes and sanitizes other surfaces as specified in schedule
· Performs other cleaning duties as specified in schedule
· Refills paper towel, tissue, toilet paper and hand soap in all dispensers
· Reports the following to the CSM:
-Presence of animals, vermin or insects
-Need for cleaning supplies or equipment repair in advance
-Water leaks and other maintenance needs
-All other health and safety hazards noticed
· Participates in environmental safety activities, as requested
· Performs other duties as assigned
· Must be available to work standard shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
· 3 years experience in the custodial field.
· Applicable knowledge of proper cleaning methods.
· Floor Maintenance experience including buffering, stripping and waxing with proper equipment maintenance a plus.
· MS Office Suite (Outlook/email) basic experience.
· Must be able to comply with all required site background checks, including fingerprints.
· Successful experience working as an effective member of a team.
· Experience successfully working with a culturally diverse staff & clients.
