Job Overview: To perform a variety of cleaning duties necessary for maintenance and operations of the Museum buildings.Duties/Responsibilities: Clean and stock all toilet facilities dailyPrepare each studio and meeting room according to the needs of the instructors as indicated by the schedule. This includes: changing the paper covering, aligning the chairs, easels and other furniture. Mop the floors and cleaning the sinks as needed.Remove all trash from building dailyReplace burned out light bulbs as neededVacuum carpets and rugs in lobbies, galleries and offices, spot clean as neededDust-mop/sweep all floors throughout buildings as neededWash windows and glass doors dailyPolish stainless steel elevators weekly or as neededWet mop all floors as needed, refinish as directedSet up and break down event furniture according to calendar and as specified by Event OrdersPerform snow removal of stairs and entrance areas; shovel and spread ice melt as neededDeliver boxes from mailroom to staff throughout the facilityAssist staff in the movement and arrangement of office furniturePerform other related duties as assignedRequirementsQualifications: General knowledge of maintenance proceduresAbility to lift up at least 50 lbs.Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 8 feetAbility to climb/descend stairsAbility to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to work under dirty or dusty conditions and/or outside in adverse weatherAbility to interact professionally with all levels of staff and the publicEmbraces and promotes diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiativesEducation and Experience: Ability to read and basic math required.Up to one year in similar position.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Hepatitis B Vaccination or WaiverAbility to work a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends) to provide coverage for the Museum's many events running 7 days per weekPhysical Exam
