Summary
Provide repair, maintenance and preventative maintenance work. Perform various set-up, and tear-down tasks. Assist in the daily upkeep of District grounds and property including buildings, walks, roadways, and equipment. Maintain the cleanliness and general appearance of the District facilities; areas may include restrooms, corridors, stairwells, locker rooms, classrooms, and offices.

Summary

Essential Duties
- Maintain District grounds; may include planting, seeding, watering, mowing, trimming, pruning, spraying, removing weeds, lining, marking and laying out athletic field markers, repair and clean facilities, etc.
- Operate grounds, custodial and maintenance equipment, such as tractors, commercial mowers, sprayers, snow removal equipment, power tools, etc.
- Clean, care, and provide preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Remove debris, litter, and weeds from District grounds, walks, parking lots, buildings, and roads.
- Participate in the removal of snow and ice, may include shoveling, salting, sanding, and plowing.
- Respond to routine/basic work order requests; may include repairing water leaks in classrooms, restrooms, corridors, and locker rooms; replacing carpet tiles, defective light bulbs and fuses, installing and maintaining restroom accessories, woodworking, plumbing/mechanical system repair and electrical repair.
- Perform and assist with projects like batch re-lamping; plumbing/mechanical and electrical repairs; ceiling tile/ceiling track repair and furniture assembly/disassembly; basic carpentry work; grounds and site repairs.
- Arrange and set-up furniture, staging, athletic, and/or physical education activity equipment, etc., working from diagrams, written, and/or oral instructions.
- Tear-down and rearrange rooms/areas following the completion of activities.
- Door hardware installation, repair, and preventative maintenance.
- Installation cores and cylinders.
- Drywall repair and finishing.
- Paints/stains and prepares floors, ceilings, walls, equipment, boilers, pipes, etc., as needed.
Related Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean assigned areas following established schedules and prescribed methods; duties may include removing trash, sweeping and/or dust mopping floors, polishing hard surfaces, cleaning mirrors, dusting furniture and ledges, wet mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, and washing off tabletops, desktops, countertops, chalkboards, whiteboards, air vents, light fixtures, window tops, door frames, and spot clean walls.
- Locking and unlocking doors, closing windows, and turning off lights.
- Stock utility closets with paper and cleaning products.
- Perform special assignments as assigned; may include bonnet buffing and extracting carpets, stripping and refinishing floors, etc.
- Performs other responsibilities and duties as directed by department directors and Building Principal or designee.

- High school graduate or equivalent (GED);
- Previous experience in building maintenance;
- Three (3) years of direct, job-related experience performing general maintenance operations, including reading schematics, replacing pumps/motors, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, basic carpentry and other basic maintenance tasks to include tools, materials, and work methods.
- Demonstrated knowledge of custodial operations, methods, and procedures.
