JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Substitute Custodian
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Custodian/Building Principal/Buildings/Facilities Supervisor/and
Director of Human Capital /School Operations
DEPARTMENT: Custodial/Maintenance
GENERAL DUTIES: The Custodian II performs designated duties involving the cleanliness and sanitation of the school to which assigned. The essential functions of this job do require lifting and pushing of furniture, trash barrels, boxes, and other equipment.

CONDUCT:
Each staff member shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

GENERAL DUTIES: The Custodian II performs designated duties involving the cleanliness and sanitation of the school to which assigned. The essential functions of this job do require lifting and pushing of furniture, trash barrels, boxes, and other equipment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Follows a regular schedule of cleaning and dusting in assigned area.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms daily in assigned areas.
- Refers to the head custodian, supervisor, or to the building principal any area in need of special maintenance repair.
- Maintains the security and safety of the building in assigned areas.
- Refills toilet paper, towel, soap, and sanitary napkin dispensers when necessary in assigned areas.
- Takes pride in personal appearance by keeping clean and clothing neat.
- Maintains a high level of personal conduct on the job to establish good relationships with the students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the public.
- Performs such other duties as assigned by the head custodian, principal, Facilities Supervisor Director of Human Resources/School Operations.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the safety of students
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability and sound judgement
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships
- Interacts in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation
