Position: Custodian - Custodians must have completed a 6 month temp employment with ITSQwest before applying.

Supervisor: Custodial Supervisor/Plant Operations Supervisor

General Job Description: Perform unskilled manual labor in the cleaning of interior and exterior of district buildings. Must maintain a sanitary environment for co-workers, students and the public. Perform minor repairs with hand tools and operate mechanical and non-mechanical equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Keep interior and exterior of building clean

* Perform minor repairs as needed

* Report need for more extensive repairs

* Keep restrooms, locker rooms, showers extra clean

* Scrub, mop and polish floors

* Dust and polish furniture

* Wash inside and outside of window

* Clean walls, woodwork and lavatories

* Clean chalk/dry erase boards

* Empty trash and remove from building to dumpsters

* Pick up debris interior and exterior

* For events, set up and clean up

* Weed exterior of buildings and grounds

* Keep adequate supplies available

* Other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, Current drivers license and experience in custodial work preferred.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving light furniture may be required.

Equipment/Technology Handled: Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.

Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.

Terms of Employment: Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district. This position is contracted for 256 days per year.
