Kenyon College is conducting a search for a full-time custodian to perform a wide variety of tasks. Working independently or as a member of a team to maintain college buildings and facilities free of hazards and presenting a neat, clean appearance. Applicants must be able to work any shift, Monday thru Sunday. Starting wage is $15.50/hour with an increase to $18.15/hour after successfully completing a probationary period of 60 workdays.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lift, carry and move materials, supplies, furniture in a safe and careful manner.
- Use various hand and/or power cleaning equipment such as: dust and scrub mops, vacuum cleaners, buffer/floor polishers and carpet shampoo/extractor equipment, use of a step ladder and snow removal equipment.
- Use various chemicals and cleaning products in a safe manner in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and material safety data sheets.
- The ability to clean toilet fixtures and showers.
- Perform various other tasks/duties as assigned by a supervisor.
- Ability to use powered cleaning equipment.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and/or written instructions for work assignments.
- Ability to work independently or in a group with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work at heights on ladders to change bulbs and clean windows.
- Ability to lift, move and transport materials, supplies and equipment up to 50lbs.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Previous custodial experience preferred but not required for the right candidate.
