Project Custodian
Job Overview
The Project Custodian is responsible for performing specialized custodial project work such as floor care, furniture cleaning, and other non-routine cleaning assignments. This position is also responsible for supporting other Custodians and the Event Setup and Moving Crew as needed. Reports to the Custodial Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide floor care and maintenance through the use of specialized equipment and procedures.
2. Provide furniture cleaning and other non-routine surface cleaning using specialized equipment and procedures.
3. Assist in routine cleaning of facilities and supports the Event Setup and Moving Crew, both during work force shortages and special events.
4. Coordinate daily assignments with shift Supervisors.
5. Monitor and control project equipment and chemicals.
6. Travel to various campus work sites as needed during a shift, using a Wheaton College vehicle.
7. Assist in the training and the supervision of Custodians in equipment use and procedures.
8. Provide feedback concerning new cleaning products and procedures.
9. Respond to campus emergencies resulting in cleaning, moving or any other custodial related needs during and after work hours.
10. Implement and practice chemical and work safety rules.
11. Participate in all required training.

Qualifications
1. High school or equivalent.
2. Minimum of two years of prior custodial experience.
3. Should be familiar with floor care procedures.
4. Must pass physical exam.
5. Have and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Physical Requirements
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motions, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, climb, crawl, crouch, stoop, kneel, bend, push, pull, lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
