General Job Description:
Upper Valley Career Center is in need of a Substitute Custodian responsible for cleaning of all facilities and assisting with preparation, set up, and clean-up of buildings for school activities.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Appropriate placement on the Miscellaneous/Intermittent Salary Schedule to be determined by experience at an hourly wage of $15.00/hour. Maximum 839 hours per year. One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.
Other Benefits:
School Employees Retirement System and Worker's Compensation. Upon hire, additional benefits may be offered depending upon hours worked, job classification, and placement on the Upper Valley Career Center Salary Schedule. Some benefits are a shared cost between the employee and the Board of Education.
Performance Evaluation:
Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and contractual agreements adopted by the Upper Valley Career Center.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Checks daily schedule of school activities that require preparation and clean up
- Anticipates and replenishes consumable supplies to avoid interruptions
- Performs assigned custodial duties
- Cleans assigned area(s)
- Cleans floors, furnishings, fixtures, walls, and windows
- Provides regular/orderly removal of trash
- Moves and arrange equipment/furnishings and supplies as directed
- Assists in receiving deliveries. Inspects packages and confirms inventory with packing lists.
- Reads/complies with all MSDS information
- Follows approved health and safety guidelines
- Participates in all training as directed
- Advises administration of emerging issues
- Follows approved health/safety guidelines
- Pursues opportunities to enhance professional performance
- Keeps current with technology
- Performs other specific job related duties are directed
- The successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED. Work skills substantiated by training and/or relevant work experience. Some maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to cope with stressful and/or adverse conditions
- Collects records and maintains data accurately. Applies basic mathematical concepts correctly.
- Reacts productively to interruptions/changing conditions
- Interacts comfortably and confidently with the public
