Substutitute Custodial staff is needed at both our Elementary and Secondary sites. Hours vary depending on need.
Location: Immediate need to fill in for a regular worker in our Elementary School in Ellendale and potential for one with assignment in the Secondary School in New Richland.
Start Date: ASAP as mutually agreed to with Building and Grounds Director
FTE: Potential for a full-time temporary position, up to 3 months but will consider part-time fulfillment.
Salary and compensation: sub pay based on AFSCME contract; starting salary range $15.58-$16.40/hour depending on experience

- Performs the general cleaning and maintenance of building and grounds including, but not limited to:
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, and refinishing floors
- Cleaning, dusting, and polishing furniture
- Washing windows and walls
- Cleaning restrooms
- Picking-up and disposing of garbage within the schools and on school grounds
- Changing of lights
- Applying cleaning chemicals according to established safety procedures and industry standards
- Performing minor repair as authorized by supervisor/designee
- Painting of walls, rails, and other areas of the school and grounds
- Keeping all equipment in a good state of repair and cleanliness
- Ensuring all areas of the building and grounds are kept in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition according to industry and/or district standards
- Conducts building checks as needed and/or required on weekends and holidays.
- Assists with the facility preparation for activities including set-up and take-down as assigned by Building and Grounds Director
- Reports to the Building and Grounds Director and/or Building Principal any concerns impacting the health and safety of the school building and grounds.
