Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintenance floor support on all welding equipment including programming, weld integrity, cut and etch inspection and resolution, and working with Program Weld Engineering on new equipment and programs.

Duties include but are not limited to stand, walk, twist, bend, lift, see, talk and hear, with an ability to travel. When visiting plant site locations, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration or hazardous materials.

- Interface with manufacturing and maintenance to resolve welding systems issues.
- Program robots, pedestal welders, and all other types of welding related equipment.
- Assist Quality Assurance department in maintaining welding integrity. Interface with manufacturing and maintenance to resolve welding and welding systems issues.
- Program robots, pedestal welders, and all other types of welding related equipment.
- Train, coach and mentor the welding process for weld engineers, manufacturing, and skilled trades colleagues.
- Direct and/or participate in root cause analysis and tam problem solving activities (e.g. 8D reports, department meetings, etc.)
- Responsible for continuous improvement of welding processes and reducing rework
Required experience:- Bachelor's degree in weld engineering/technology from four-year college or university; five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands on experience in manual and automated welding processes.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D Software for use with obtaining weld coordinates, and reviewing product math models
- Highly Desired Skills - A specialized knowledge of the following:
1. Resistance spot welding - Aluminum and Steel - Bosch and WTC Controllers
2. Resistance projection Welding - Bosch, WTC, Dengensha Controllers
3. Gas metal arc welding - Aluminum and Steel - Lincoln Welding Power Supplies, Wire Feeders
4. Drawn Arc Stud Welding - Emhart, Tucker, Stanley Black & Decker
5. Robotic Programming - Fanuc, ABB
6. Customer welding specification and testing requirements - GM, Ford, Toyota
7. Collect and Maintain Weld Documentation
8. Familiarity with CQI-15 Audit Requirements
9. Experience interfacing with Customer Quality and Customer Weld Engineering
