*This is a field position that travels to perform field work for QTC's Steel & Structural Services Team*

75%-100% Traveling position: Weekly Travel

Job Summary: We are looking for two quality people to join our dynamic team in the Welder Climber role, where precision and excellence are the standards are key. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Accurately work from plans, prints, and sketches to ensure precise execution of welding tasks.
  • Interpret and apply orientation, layout, fit, tolerance, surface preparation, and weld callouts with precision.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and inspectors to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Safely operate all hand tools for fabricating, cutting, fitting, welding, and erecting structural steel.
  • Conduct welding in areas with minimal clearance, adhering to stringent access and inspection requirements.
  • Perform welding tasks while bending, stooping, lying flat, standing, or being suspended for extended periods, with the majority of work conducted at elevated heights.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in climbing as a profession is highly desired.
  • Current certification in SMAW 3G/4G, FCAW-3G/4G.
  • Strong knowledge base of D1.1 welding standards is highly desired.
  • Crown Castle Welding Certification is highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of walking/standing/climbing
  • Must be able to transport items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to conduct field work at various locations.
  • Physical agility, including the ability to bend, kneel, climb, and squat, with a full range of motion.
  • Comfortable working at significant heights
