Job Overview:

The Welder Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the welding team, ensuring the quality and safety of welding processes, and providing guidance to welders. This role includes managing schedules, monitoring welding projects, maintaining equipment, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and troubleshooting any welding-related issues. The Welder Supervisor ensures that all welding work meets industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervise and lead a team of welders, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

· Assign work to the welding staff and manage daily operations to ensure efficient use of resources.

· Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements for projects.

· Monitor the quality of welding work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

· Conduct regular inspections of welding equipment and materials to ensure they are in good working condition.

· Provide training and mentorship to new and existing welders on techniques, safety protocols, and best practices.

· Troubleshoot welding problems and provide solutions to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

· Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing all safety policies and practices related to welding operations.

· Review project plans and collaborate with other departments to ensure welding tasks are completed according to schedule.

· Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including time tracking, materials used, and complete work.

· Ensure that welding equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.

· Assist in inventory management, ensuring that necessary welding supplies and equipment are readily available.

· Perform hands-on welding when necessary, depending on workload and project requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a Welder and preferably 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.

· In-depth knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and industry standards.

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.

· Proficient in various welding methods (e.g., MIG, TIG)

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and feedback to the team.

· Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in welding and construction.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME, or equivalent).

· Experience with specialized welding equipment or in a specific welding field (e.g., pipe welding).

· Previous experience in managing projects or teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Pay Range: $65,000-$75,000.
