Location: Tuscaloosa, AL

Salary: $33.15 to $37.35 per hour USD
Shift: 3rd Shift (Typically 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor/Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician with expertise in robotics and some leadership experience to join our dynamic maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all plant equipment, with a strong focus on robotic systems and automated machinery. This individual will also play a role in leading and mentoring team members during the night shift to ensure efficient operation and quick response to any mechanical or electrical issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance & Repair:
    • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on robotic systems, automated machinery, and other production equipment.
    • Identify and address mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime.
    • Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly and safely.
  • Robotics Support:
    • Oversee and support the operation of industrial robots, robotic arms, conveyors, and other automated systems.
    • Troubleshoot and program robots (e.g., teach pendant programming) and work closely with engineers to resolve technical issues.
    • Assist in the installation and setup of new robotic systems
  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Develop, implement, and execute preventive maintenance schedules for robotic systems and other equipment.
    • Perform software updates and calibrations for robotic systems and other automated machinery.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and downtime incidents.
    • Complete shift reports and communicate ongoing issues to the next shift to ensure seamless operations.
    • Work with management to track and monitor maintenance metrics and equipment performance.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to recommend and implement process improvements.
    • Assist with equipment upgrades and modifications to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability.


Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 1-2 years working with robotic systems (Specifically Welding Robotics)
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, robotics).
    • Proficiency with robotic programming (teaching, debugging, and modifications).
    • Experience with PLCs, HMI interfaces, and automation systems.
    • Familiarity with industrial safety standards and practices.
    • ISO 9001/IATF 1694 is a requirement.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or an associate degree in industrial maintenance, robotics, mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Comfortable working in various industrial environments, including confined spaces and heights.
  • Shift Availability:
    • Ability to work 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM), with potential overtime and weekend availability.
