With 135k square feet of indoor sports and entertainment space, we are the largest indoor sports dome in New England and the first to provide Trackman golf performance range technology. Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Division Director, Turf, Hub coaches will lead and inspire young athletes in developing a passion for their sport. Coaches will create high energy, positive and, above all, a fun, environment.
Responsibilities:
- Follow Hub created curriculum with high energy and enthusiasm.
- Develop and implement engaging practice plans that focus on basic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Participate in Hub coach education training sessions and shadowing as required or as necessary.
- Facilitate practices and scrimmage play in a safe and organized manner, ensuring a positive experience for all participants.
- Provide individualized instruction to players to help them improve their skills and understanding of the game as necessary.
- Promote love for the game, emphasizing effort, personal improvement, and enjoyment over competition.
- Maintain open and positive communication with players, parents, and colleagues.
- Address any concerns or issues that arise in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe environment, adhering to all relevant safety protocols and guidelines.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in youth coaching related to the designated sport.
On-Site/Remote Attendance:
This position requires 100% on-site attendance.
Requirements:Required Skills/Abilities:
- Understand and communicate basic techniques of the designated sport.
- Experience providing clear and concise communication with players, parents, and other coaches to convey instructions and feedback.
- Ability to listen to players’ concerns and feedback to address their needs and adjust coaching methods accordingly.
- Experience utilizing positive communication skills and coaching techniques to create a positive and engaging environment.
- Possess basic knowledge of first aid and CPR to handle injuries or medical emergencies.
- Understand and implement safety protocols to prevent injuries and ensure a safe playing environment.
- Ability to adjust coaching methods and practice plans based on the needs and skill levels of players.
- Possess quick thinking and problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues or changes in plans
- Ability to demonstrate sportsmanship, respect, and ethical behavior as a role model for young players. Facilitate practices and scrimmage play in a safe and organized manner, ensuring a positive experience for all participants.
- College or higher playing experience preferred
- 2-3 years’ experience head coaching in a recreational or competitive youth team environment
- Youth sports or other coach licensure or certification preferred
- SafeSport or equivalent certification required
Physical Demands
- Ability to physically demonstrate the required playing skills of the sport and participate in practice and game play.
- Required to periodically lift up to 50lbs
