FLSA Classification: Non Exempt, Part Time
Salary Range: Minimum Wage
Reports to: Youth Program Manager

Summary
Under the supervision of the Youth Program Manager, the Youth Sports Instructor is responsible for the implementation and instruction of recreational youth athletics programs and activities. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help lead a variety of different sports programs for children ages ranging from preschool to teens. This position is also responsible for maintaining attendance records and conducting classes in accordance with park district safety protocols.
Essential Duties

- Implement and/or instruct recreation programs in assigned area as assigned by the Manager
- Maintains records including attendance, maintenance/neatness of the site and equipment.
- Monitor weather conditions and security of program sites.
- Supervise participants, ensure safety, enforce rules, follow discipline guidelines and resolve problems as needed.
- Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in the field sports program area.
- Work in a cooperative or assisting manner for constant improvement of all aspects of the Joliet Park District.
- Enforce all posted rules at facilities.
Hours
Part time, may include days, evenings, holidays, and weekends

This position will occur both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.

Education and Experience
Some High School education required
Previous sport participation/instruction preferred
Additional Eligibility Requirements
Must be at least 16 years of age or older
CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain upon hire required
